Take it on Tuesday: Keep it Movin
Keep it Movin.....
This is a quote, but it is not necessarily attributed to anyone, as it is pretty generic. I use it today because, in our daily work and personal lives, we just have to keep it moving when obstacles and challenges come. We can not afford to sit around and mope when challenges come our way. The energy spent on moping sucks away from the energy we can spend on problem-solving. Many times, one can read a post like this and immediately turn to the idea that we are entitled to have feelings or times of rest. Yes, that is true. However, allowing any time for "doing nothing" to overstay its welcome will not result in a good outcome.
Even when you do not know how to face a challenge, taking small steps and making bite-sized decisions can help you get on the right path. When you can break a problem into smaller parts, the problem itself loses its magnitude and power. In these difficult times of work challenges and societal turmoil, I look at what's ahead, focus on what deserves my time and attention, prioritize my actions, and take small steps toward the impact I want on the challenge before me. When I do that, I realize this problem is solvable after all.
"We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them." Albert Einstein
