Take it on Tuesday: Moving Past Fears
Take it on Tuesday!
No matter what happens in life, big or small, if you learn to let it go and move forward, then your past does not have to poison your future.
Joel Osteen
For many right now, it's really tough to look beyond the past and maybe even the present. I know.. However, as long as we are focused on disappointment, we cannot move into a fruitful future. This is the time to appreciate (not ignore) the emotion (we are human), but do not let it control the outcome of the future. If you do, the future will be guaranteed and will not be what you want it to be. You will fall into self-pity. You will be stuck. You will be immobilized. You will be fearful.
The most powerful fears are disappointment, loss, and failure. They can be like an anchor holding you down. I have experienced each of these and, as a result, have researched them quite a bit. The danger is that our minds are powerful and will always have something to point to and say, "You see, that happened." But we must not live life looking back; we need to look forward.
Each day needs to be lived with intention and focused on what you can change, on how you can contribute to your future, and on how you can contribute to the future of others. As Joel Osteen said, "Do not be a victim but a victor."
God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
